However, these could seldomly be read in his own words and what about his views on his own status as a celebrity? "Letter's of the Dragon" accomplishes just that and in my view it comes as close to an autobiography as possible. John Little is able (once again) to present Bruce Lee in a different light in this fifth book from the "Bruce Lee Library". New insights are revealed, in which Bruce is shown on the one hand as a humble and modest and on the other hand as a forceful and opinionated human being. This book shows that Bruce was a prolific letter writer and virtually every aspect of his life and career is covered in here. The letters are divided in five time periods: Discovering America 1958-1963, From Gung Fu to Green Hornet 1964-1966, Jeet Kune Do and the Art of Cultivating Optimism 1967-1970, A Star Begins to Rise 1971-1972 and The Final Year 1973. Letters included are to his wife Linda, James Coburn, Taky Kimura and many others. This book, as really each book from the "Bruce Lee Library", offers something for everyone: for the Bruce Lee admirer, film fan or martial artist. If you really want to know more about Bruce Lee's thoughts and ideas then this is the chance to do so, in Bruce Lee's own words. Bruce's widow, Linda Lee Cadwell, states in her foreword: "Absorb Bruce's letters through the walls of your heart, not through the mental process of your head." What else remains to be said?
